Hi everyone! First off, I just wanna say that what I learned from searching here has helped me quite a bit already, so thanks in advance. Also I own a late 90's saturn s-series and have had several GM vehicles in the past, so I knew the quirks I'd have when I bought this thing. The lot had rebuilt it after the previous owner overheated it from a blown head gasket (go figure, right?) so it runs top notch. Pretty much all my issues are electrical in nature (go figure again, lol) and I've been pretty stumped so far, so anyway:
So it didn't come with it's fob, and I've no idea if it is related to the security or not, but the door lock buttons do nothing. The locks do function using the key in the drivers door, so it must be something somewhere else. Someone posted earlier with this same issue. Also I've no idea if this is related but the wipers only work on max setting and shut off exactly where you turn it off, i.e. do not park. I already checked the motor and drive assembly and everything looks correct, the metal tab/clip is still in place and the spring is still on and I can manually move the clutch into park position. I'm wondering if it's related to the locks issue, maybe something with the multi switch? The Compressor won't engage either, but appears to have r-134 in it so I'm gonna try the fuse bypass and if that doesn't work I'll suspect pressure switch. Lastly the power sliding door wasn't working so I went to check the fuse and it was missing, so I swapped out the power lock fuse and it worked! However once it was open, it would not close, automatically or manually. I had to pull the fuse and put some gusto into the door to get it to close again. I'm wondering if this is the motor for the door somehow seizing up, or if there is something with the rail system. I assume the previous owners removed the fuse when it got stuck and instead of fixing it just left it out. Any suggestions???
