Car stopped running but right before it sounded like it needed oil. Put oil into it and it drained basically down to none almost immediately. Oil isn't leaking from the bottom onto the ground or anywhere I can see. What could be the possible issues and is it worth fixing? 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 engine

Not sure what you mean by a sound that indicates needs oil, a clattering sound?
Did you check the oil level on the dipstick?
How much oil did you put in the engine?

Yes the clattering sound that means it's way too dry, despite recently having an oil change before this. Dipstick said it was low. I opened the cap on the engine and it was basically empty. I put in 2 quarts. It was going back down while filling it up as if bone dry again. A small amount sat at the bottom but that's it, was basically like I didn't just put oil in it.

Its supposed to go down to the bottom of the engine. It doesn't sit at the top so you can see it. Did you recheck the dipstick after putting the oil in?
