02 sunfire timing chain replace

My brother has an 02 sunfire w/ 2.2 ecotec motor, his timing chain needs to be replaced as well as the gears and tensinor, and i was wondering if i needed to lift the engine out of the car or if it could be done without removing the motor??

no you do not need to remove the motor.. i just did mine just remove the top motor mount and can use a jack to jack raise motor enough to get the mount bracket off
