03 Montana. park lights stay on.

Would you believe these things come from rabbits? They're multiplying!

I have a 4th one sitting here at my house. Same issue but this one tested shorted way past the connector.
The + wire for the rear power port is cooked from the socket to the fuse connector in the IP fuse box.

I'm just going to overlay a 10g, but first I have to dig into the harness from front to back and check for further damage from a heating element being laid along the remaining wires.

This one's owner just kept disconnecting the battery and continuing on..... For MONTHS!

The initial short was the same as the others, but we'll not comment on the intelligence of continuing to drive it.

For what its worth, this is caused by too much current through too small a connector pin. This heats up and melts a poorly designed plastic connector housing and lets two terminals come into direct contact.

All that for this. It's an easy fix! Don't keep driving!

Do check the wires into the IP fuse box though. Easy, just press in the latch release at the forward side of the box. The assembly will hinge inwards and come loose. Now you can carefully turn it to fit out the hole it lives in for inspection.
