...Mechanic says it's electrical.? My key gets stuck in the "auxiliary" position, it won't go into the off position. Occasionally I don't have a problem, but I'd say it works "maybe" 1 out of 15 times. The mechanic says that this is happening because the key doesn't know the car is in park. I've been using the release switch which is located under the steering column to get the key out. But it's getting old! Anyone have any ideas on what I need to map out and check in the electrical? What color cable/cables do I check under the steering column? Thanks in advance.
I've had this same problem in the past... Actually I've had to have the key lock cylinder replaced 3 times!!! I think this time it may be electrical. At some point I think this car had keyless entry, because the original sticker says it has it but it doesn't. Under the steering column there are some wires that have been cut into, and they have electrical tape on them. Could this be the issue?
