Hi. My name is John and I am new to the forum. My wife has a 2004 Grand AM. It has a standard radio / CD player, both of which works fine, the LED's to light up all the buttons work ok but the the LCD Display will not light up. I just purchased 2 of the same radios from ebay and exchanged the front panel which holds the display, thinking it was the display at fault. I changed over both radio front panels with the display and none of the ones I purchased from ebay work either. I didn't want to replace the complete radio because of the problems reprogramming it. Can anyone tell me, is this a common problem with this year and model Grand AM with the standard radio/CD player? I include a photo of the front panel with the board that I changed. I have found that you have to strip the radio and remove the display, a small 12v 75ma bulb is soldered underneath the display, replace this and good to go.
