I have a 2004 grand am se with a 2.2 170,000 km on it the wife came home parked it now it will not start it turns over good but will not fire when you turn the key on service engine soon ,trac off lights stay on the time to change your oil light is on as well does anybody have any ideas on how i can get this car started thanks. this is a nice site by the way

Only 2 things will prevent it from starting, no fuel reaching the cylinders or no spark. You have to determine which is the cause of the no start. Pull one of the plug wires off, stick a screwdriver in the plug boot and hold the shaft of the screwdriver near something metal while someone else tries to start the car. If you have a decent spark jumping from the shaft of the screwdriver to the metal you then know you have a fuel issue. When you turn the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump spin for a few seconds? If not you have a problem with the pump, relay, wires or a fuse. Check your fuses first.

The cel light will be on because the engine is not running. It needs to see a tach signal.
