Just bought a 2006 AWD with 102k miles. Just started to hear a clicking noise which sounds like it is coming from the right rear while coming to a stop. Just took the drums off both sides and everything is where it is supposed to be. Readjusted the shoes and test drove. Noise is still there but just slightly quieter.. not by much.

Anyone else having or have had a similar problem? Going to take it in sometime this week hopefully.

since you have drums it might be the adjusting screw..the udjusting arm is probably hitting the screw at the wrong angle do to wear and tear..can't tell unless i see it, but if it's like you say the best bet is to replace all drum parts to fix your problem

That what I was thinking at first but once I took the drums off, everything looked good and when I adjusted them, they seemed fine.

Looks like they put new drums and shoes on it and reused the old hardware kits. Ill check at work and see what I can get and then do the job the right way!

Its been a few years since Ive messed with drum brakes but hopefully it will all come back!!!

yeah! never reuse the hardware..so if you swap out the old with new it should be fine and make sure to grease where the pad touches the back shield

Dont you have CV joints in the back? You probably have a bad one.

It was the rear brake shoes. I replaced the hardware and the self adjusters and adjusted the brakes. Seems to have gone away.
