Car runs perfect (its new) I have a Cold Air Intake, and a Corsa Exhaust...Ill be driving and it starts to rain hard the car will drop power and sound as if the exhaust broke free on me(obviously didn't) and sounds bogged down and loud...when i add power it almost sounds
like a backfire but really quiet backfire...If i slow down or stop it runs perfect...everyone is clueless on this and mechanics think im crazy...only happens in heavy rain...please help
MY CAI is sitting at engine level it is self enclosed sealed from the engine...it sits about 3 feet off the ground in a enclosed hard plastic area that draws from the stock intake box made by Roto-Fab...every G8 in the area has one and has had 0 issues with it out here...i was searching all over the internet and this seems to be a reoccuring issue with vehicles but not common, there are about 8 other G8's that also have had this issue also

have you tried hosing the engine down and seeing if you can duplicate the problem?

You noticed it too, lmao. You feel crazy the first time you notice it don't you. The G8's traction control system is too smart for it's own good and because when you drive in the rain you are constantly "hydroplanning" the G8 is constantly bogging itself down because the chip thinks that the car is sliding out of control. everyones G8 does that just not everyone notices it. Next time it's raining drive a different G8 and you'll see what I'm talking about.:)
