18" wheels and tires

anyone know how big of wheels and tires will fit on a Torrent?

my wife just got an 07 Torrent AWD and has a line on some nice 18x8 rims.
She would like to put something along the lines of 255/55-R18's on them.
I know that the Vue Redline has 18x7 rims with 235/55-r18's.

will they fit? will i need to add bump stops?

she wants the same look as a BMW X5 with the big tire package.

the X5 use 315 in rear the front can use 245's 255 if u use a spacer .5". the rear can use a 255 with no problem.
