I just purchased a 1963 Pontiac Catalina 2dr sports sedan for 800 dollars:cool:. This is my first attempt at a semi complete restoration and with not a lot of mechanic skill I'll be piecing some of the work out. Mainly the engine rebuild, body work and paint I am pretty good at wiring and I can do some of the interior work myself. The problems I have come down to the surface rust on the roof which I have been told is the hardest to fix? I have a guy coming out to see if he can glass blast it off because a pretty good body guy said it would cost 35-50k for him to sand blast do body work and paint it:eek:. Also I am looking for foam inserts for the seats because mine are thrashed does anyone know of a place that sells new ones and door panels? I have used Frank's Pontiac parts for some of the stuff but I am still needing the window and trunk gaskets along with interior parts but over all the car looks great and is running and driving.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a nice project there. Have you tried www.amesperf.com and www.opgi.com for your parts needs?

Yes I have and they do not carry the split bench seat foam or covers also I need door panels. Thanks for the reply and the welcoming after I looked at how long it's been since someone started a thread I got a little worried haha

there seems to be more activity on the A body area of 60's cars, GTO, LeMans, Tempest. The B body is slow.

I think that's what makes the early cats so cool because they don't have a ton of followers so when you see one it's always special

Nice Catalina. Looking at you Plate, you now own one of only 14K units made. Keep it my friend.
