I just purchased a 1963 Pontiac Catalina 2dr sports sedan for 800 dollars
. This is my first attempt at a semi complete restoration and with not a lot of mechanic skill I'll be piecing some of the work out. Mainly the engine rebuild, body work and paint I am pretty good at wiring and I can do some of the interior work myself. The problems I have come down to the surface rust on the roof which I have been told is the hardest to fix? I have a guy coming out to see if he can glass blast it off because a pretty good body guy said it would cost 35-50k for him to sand blast do body work and paint it
. Also I am looking for foam inserts for the seats because mine are thrashed does anyone know of a place that sells new ones and door panels? I have used Frank's Pontiac parts for some of the stuff but I am still needing the window and trunk gaskets along with interior parts but over all the car looks great and is running and driving.
