1965 lemans gto newbie help with estimate

Hey guys, thanks for adding me. I was wondering if you guys could help me. My mother in law has had this car in her garage for over 20 years, it's never been started and just sat there. She has come to the realization that it's just rotting their and she is not going to do anything with it. She would like me to sell it, I have a baby on the way and will have no disposal income to take on a project like this. It's a really nice car and Im looking for Pontiac enthusiasts who could steer me in the right direction. All I know is that it's a 1965 Pontiac LeMans GTO and the engine emblem says 326. Everything I've looked at seems to be original and the odometer says 95k on it.

Any guidance on what's it's worth or where the best place to post it would be greatly appreciate. Ohh and I am located in Southern California area.

It appears to be a LeMans NOT a GTO. The GTO never came with a 326 and nowhere in the pictures does it say GTO. I would look at www.collectorcarmarket.com. Good luck with it.

Nice car, but with a 326 cu inch engine it is a Lemans, not a GTO. The 1965 GTO had an engine displacement of 389 or 421 cu inches.

Would make a good GTO Clone ,so start way higher ....... Close to double and work your way down.

15% More if with factory 4 barrel.

Yea I have no idea where I got GTO from... I've tried doing research on the VIN number and I got nothing.. forgive my ignorance I'm was born in the 80s and carbs were on their way out. Thank you guys for the insight.

The 2 means its a Pontiac and the next 4 digits show the model , the 6th digit is a 5 for the year. The 7th digit is where it was assembled and the rest is a sequential number. The carburetor is a 2 barrel.

I found that in the glove box, so apparently it was driving around in 2001. How hard would it be to get this beast started?

New battery.
Remove spark plugs, squirt oil in cylinders.
Turn engine over by hand using crank bolt.
Change engine oil and filter.
Drain any gas from tank and fill with fresh gas.
Start engine.
Change transmission fluid and filter, flush cooling system, flush brake system.
Change differential fluid.
