Is it possible that my 1966 engine was painted light blue instead of metallic blue?
It's a standard 250 hp 326 built June 30, 1966 according to the numbers on distributor pad. I'm the 2nd owner of the car since 1985. Back then, I rattle canned it Ford blue because it seemed like a decent match at the time. That was done with engine in vehicle, and without removing any components. I'm now rebuilding engine and cannot find any trace of metallic blue. The back of the crank has quite a bit of old paint intact. It's more of a turquoise blue, and I could not possibly have painted that area back then.
Maybe heat and age has changed the color and I just don't recognize it.
