1967 Firebird hood latch stuck

Hope someone can help me figure out how to open the hood on a 67 Firebird. The lever moves ok but the hood will not pop up. I tried pushing down on the hood while the lever was pulled but it is stuck. Help Thanks

from under the front of the car or through the grill, can you see if the hood release rod is still connected to the latch?

I can see a part moving where I think the latch is located when I pull the lever. I sprayed wd forty on it and it will not open. thanks

you have had one person push down on the hood while you pull the lever?

Body tag on the 67 Firebird Convertable. 223677U148896 Does this indicate a 326 two barrel or H O four barrel? Thanks

that tells you nothing about the engine. You have to look at the engine code in front of the passenger side cylinder head on the block. WC, WH, YJ, XI are 2bbl codes. WK, WO, YM and XO are 4bbl codes
