1970 Air cleaner

I just bought a 1970 Catalina. It was missing the air cleaner setup entirely from the top of the 2 bbl Carb. and when I went to the parts store (forgive me, beginner at fixing cars) all of their assemblies would either not fit properly, or would not leave enough room to close the hood.

So my main question. What Air cleaner kit do I need? And how much should it cost? New or used vintage does not matter, but being cost-effective does. I don't want to damage the engine further by driving with no filter, and it seems the previous owner didn't know, or didn't care.

This is my first post, of many on this Catalina forum. I'll need some help, for sure.

You can find many air cleaner assemblies that will fit your vehicle, just measure the diameter of the carburetor where the air cleaner sits.

You may need a drop air cleaner to clear the hood.

Thank you, I am learning quite a bit about this car, and it is forcing me to learn more about cars in general. I hope to get an air cleaner that can fit soon. My next projects after that are brake booster, hood hinges, water pump/radiator, and alternator belt.
