Ok I’m stumped right now. None of the exterior lighting in my 1970 was working. After pulling all lenses I discovered no bulbs were in any of the harnesses. I went and replaced all the bulbs and half work, half don’t. Also, even with the light switch off and key out and everything off the tail light bulbs are still on and are getting extremely hot within seconds. Only way to kill the lights now is by disconnecting the battery. Bad ground? bad switch in dash? No clue 🤷🏻‍♂️

Need a clearer explanation of half dont, exactly what doesn't work?
The lights that stay on with switch off, key out, are you sure they aren't brake lights?
Did you try disconnecting the brake switch?

Ok I found the issue with my lighting and electrical. For one NOTHING was grounded. So #1 the person I bought it from just half assed slapped everything together in a hurry, #2 all bulbs were burnt out, #3 all the light sockets were corroded and rusted and not gettting a connection, #4 the brake light push switch on pedal and bright push switch were bad and not connected and #5 the thermal flasher on the fuse panel was bad. Next step is to take the column apart and replace the blinker assembly switch which shouldn’t be too bad of a task from what I’ve researched besides pulling the steering wheel🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Right. I was in shock and surprised of what I found when I tore into it and how bad the wiring and sockets were
