1972 power steering removal

Im trying to remove the power steering off my 72 lemans 2 door coupe. The pump conected to the steering rack is on a ball peice with a greese nipple. How do i kick the thing out? Its like friction tight!?

If you are talking about a pitman arm which connects to the steering box, you need a puller. Why are you trying to remove the steering box?

My guess would be manual steering.

What do mean by "power steering modern performing", are you converting the car to rack and pinion?
