1972 Side mirrors

I would like to switch my side mirrors from the ball bearing style to the stock bullet style but I was wondering if they would fit in the same holes or if I'd have to make another, which I don't want to do. If anybody has any idea, I'd love to know.

are you saying you want to go from chrome mirrors to the body color mirrors? what is the problem with additional holes if they are hidden by the base of the mirror?

Yes, I want switch to body colored mirrors, I was just hoping I wouldn't have to cut into the body if needed but I took the mirror off and saw I can drill another hole through the bracket if the holes do not match.
