1979 Formula front and rear wheel flares

I had a unique 1979 Formula that had a white leather interior, two tone silver, t tops and wheel flares that were on the front and rear of each wheel. looked like factory intstalled but havent seen them in any pictures. Yes it had a spoiler front and back. It was special ordered by a NASA engineer in florida, but later wrecked. I got it when it was repaired. but front and rear flares on each wheel?
Was that an option?

As you know that is a trans am not a formula. The parts must have been bought over the counter and installed since they were not available from the factory on the formula.

that was possible due to being rebuilt after the accident. but it was sweet.

you said "had" a 79 formula. is the one in the pic the same car?

i have a friend that worked for pontiac for 30 some years. i will ask him about the wheel flairs.

this is not the first trans am that i have seen with 2 flairs per wheel.
