ok im looking for a 1979 trans am and there are a couple dif ones. befor i go jumping into it i would like to ask you guys what i should get. like what engine is the best for these.

what different engines did you see for a 79 Trans Am?

i was talking about what engine would be best to put in it. like the 403 or 455 and i hurd about some how u can put a 454 in it but idk. any way im thinking about going new like a late 4 gen 98-00

by best, do you mean highest horsepower or some other criteria? You can put any GM engine in it you want limited by the size of your wallet, do you have a number in mind? Do you intend to do this yourself or do you have a shop that will do the work?
