Hi--my T/A has a non-functioning Tach after some dingbat was in the engine compartment and dinked with something. The wiring behind the instrument cluster is in great shape. I even traded out the cluster with a spare I had--still did not work. I think the Tach is somehow linked to the distributor. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Thanks!

The distributor has a terminal on the cap marked Tach. Did you check if the wire is connected?

Wire is connected. Thick wire too. Plugs into " tach" area. Still no result. Wires look good coming out of wire harness?

Did you connect a hand held to the TACH terminal?

Thanks for your time! After digging around the wiring, I found a connection. Turns out there are 2 connectors that connect from underneath to the tach housing. Following the wiring harness, these two wires were clearly for the tach. One of the connectors was connected and the other one was hiding. Funny thing is it is visually impossible to see where this connector actually connected to the tach. So I fumbled with it a bit and it finally fit. Pretty easy fix. Thanks again!

Good to hear you got it done. One wire would be the light the other the signal.
