Ok just to make a long story a bit shorter here is the jist of what has happened
and what ive done......
ok so i buy these 2 fieros for 800 under the assumption that the guy new what he was doing and thought it was just a head gasket that was blown.so i take the head off and notice a piece of metal laying in there. i remove it and inspect the cylinder walls and everything. not finding anything i take the head to the shop and it was a little warped. hoping that small piece of metal was nothing i put it all back together.starts up fine but billows white smoke after it warms up.and then over heats.always turning off and not letting it overheat. soo i tear it done again and see the crack in the sidewall of cylinder one. i couldnt see it before because the piston was to far up.regardless. this comes to my question. i know i can take the whole motor and whatnot out the bottom but is it possible to just take the block out via the top and leave everything in???????? i need help asap becasue driving season is just around the bend.also it it a auto 2.5 4 banger

PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cracked block

hello im new to this site...
i have an 88 formula v6..
on the fiero the easy way is to pull assembly from bottom....
the 4 cyl block may come out from top but why do all that work....
hardest thing is setting the rear of car up high enough to work and get "complete" assy out.
its not that mush of a night mare...
where are you located....
