Im looking at a 1984 Trans Am Firebird V8 305 with 170,000Km's
Price is for 1300$, body is a little beat up with scratches but the engine and all runs well for its age.

They are def one of the worst cars for fuel economy but my question is... how much maintenance do you guys think I would need to do?
Say i drive it about 100KM every week.
Anyone have any problems with their car?

not sure how anybody is going to answer that question without seeing the prior maintenance records

As in like a history with recipts?
Say, he says I threw them all away....

Any advice for something to look out for? Or its quite hard to spot any problems.
The car got a recent tune up and disc brakes serviced, should I call up the guy who did the tune up and ask whats up?

when is the last time the transmission had a fluid change? was the rear end fluid ever changed? brakes and tuneup are normal maintenance what you are trying to avoid are big ticket repairs caused by lack of servicing

Hold on there. I've seen 23 mpg from a TBI 305, and 26 mpg from a carbureted, non-computer 350. You just gotta get the whole car's parts combo right, and keep it to 65 mph.
If you aren't over 20 on the highway, then we should discuss it.
