Im thinking about getting a 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE that has 80,000 miles on it, its automatic v6 and looks decent. (im not sure how interior is or if its the stock engine, but im asuming it is) Its $2400 and im wondering if they are kind of quick (or can it become faster) it doesnt have to be real fast but decent. Are any places that sell performance parts? I was on Fierostore.com and they have some stuff that looks good and im wondering if its legit. it looks like it but i just wanna make sure. Feel free to share anything else about the cars because i dont know much about them. Does anyone know what the hp is suposed to be on a stock 86 SE?? Any help is appreaciated. THANKS
Also what would you recomend for noticable hp upgrades (trying to keep prices low) would it be best to get engine upgrades or handling upgrades first. or at the same time.

Suggest that if you have the 2.8L V6, you really don't want to 'hop it up'. The engine has proven itself very reliable in its stock form, but does not have the 'beef' to withstand increased horsepower. Also, there seems to be a very limited market for performance parts for these motors - would worry about proven reliability of products offered.

As an analogy - sure you can wire a 110 volt light bulb to run on 220 volts - and it will burn brighter, but for a much shorter period.
