Hi, All.

I'm a new member and really hope someone can help with this problem. I have an '87 Firebird V6 (Straman Coachworks convertible) that stalls after about 15 minutes of running (either driving or idling). It's not vapor lock, I've changed the fuel filter and fuel pump and none of that has fixed the problem. The car is fuel injected.

When driving and it stalls, it feels sluggish and like there is air in the line and then just dies. I can tell when it is about to happen so that I can pull over. After waiting for the car to cool about 30-45 minutes, it is drive-able again only to stall in less time then before.

The car has been garaged the entire time and has 65,000 miles. Help?

Do you have a service engine light on?
Have you tried injector cleaner for a few fill ups of gasoline?
Have you done a fuel pressure test to see if after the engine is turned off the pressure drops quickly indicating one or more leak injectors?

Automatic trans? If it is , it could be the TCC.

TCC is the torque convertor lockup solenoid, it could be bad and causing the stalling.

Try pulling the #9 fuse in the fuse box to see if it continues, you will lose A/C, Cruise , and Guages also. Solenoid is in the trans, pan will have to pulled to replace it....
