What are your thoughts on it. Safety? Any failures that I should know of or engine problems. Looking to buy one.

You are referring to a car that is over 30 years old. The individual car has to be examined by someone familiar with what to look for in older cars and this can vary greatly depending on how prior owners maintained it. One car can have a totally rusted frame and suspension and the next one is perfect. Same thing for every other component of the car.
