1991 sunbird 2.0l no spark

1991 2.0l no spark at coil, the fuel pump comes on and the injector pulses. retrieved trouble code 42. There is 12 volts supply at the coil and the C wire of the ignition module. Replaced the coil and ignition module, still no spark. The rotor turns when cranking so I ruled out the timing belt. Was going to try the pick-up coil next. Any suggestions.
