1995 pontiac firebird security light on car wont start?

hi any ideas.been driving it for 4 yrs runs fine got out wenjt to store came out wont start ,tapped on starter/solenoid .in case it locked up//checked terminal connections..lights work..just no power in dash checked ignition fuse..tried to push start it popped clutch no go..any ideas were to start looking???/the security light is the only thing on in dash ..shorted out? shut down the car did it remedy????..thsanks

Found this site on Cabelas forum http://repairpal.com/pontiac-firebird-1995 and it said the security chip in your key or your ignition switch has failed.
