I just started driving 95 Pontiac Grand Am which was driven by my family for many years but was garage kept until maybe 5 years ago. It just crossed over 54,000 miles. I recently drove it (for the first time) 75 miles to get it home. A day or two later the "low coolant" light came on the dash and my engine began to smoke. I added coolant and by a few hours later the resevoir was empty again. The resevoir has gone from full to empty multiple times over the last few days. I noticed that I filled it, and drove it to work (5 miles) and when I got to work it was still full. But after sitting a bit it was empty agian.

The 2 hoses connecting to the radiator seem to be fine. Are there any other common leaks or other related issues for these cars that anyone can help me with?

Check the oil, make sure it doesn't look like a milkshake. Could be a head gasket. If there are no external leaks, it is leaking internaly. If it is the v6, they are known for lower intake leaks.
