We have a 96 pontiac grand am that won't start... One mechanic told us that it was the fuel pump. We bought that and fuel filter which didn't help. We bought a new fuel relay switch. We also took the fuel rail off to test the fuel injectors to see if they were spraying, which they are. We changed the spark plugs. Could it possibly jumped time. We put gas in the throttle body and it will run smoothly. But as soon as it runs the gas out it dies and won't start back. If you try to start it back it will back fire. Could it be a cracked coil. If so what would the symptoms? Any help would be great.
Also. we had a tester hooked up to it like the ones at auto zone and no codes showed up....
