i heard a rumor about 5 years ago of this model of car having an issue with the electrical wiring short circuiting due to water draining through the frame. it wasn't having any issues at the time so i figured it was not a major trend.

recently both of my power window motors burnt out within a couple months of each other. i had both replaced and then less than a year later both window motors are burnt out again. today my battery died on me while i was sitting at an intersection. my check battery light came on yesterday (thursday) but i figured i could wait until the weekend to fix it. basically i had to stop at a red light and the radio fizzled out then my needles started flying all over the place and it died. i tried to rev up my engine to keep it running long enough until the green light but i had to lift my foot off the gas to reposition my clutch foot and it just stalled out.

i am curious if there is a known underlying electrical issue that can actually be repaired. i don't want to be replacing window motors every 6 months or less. i am curious if there is a short circuit somewhere that is burning out my windows and also sapping my battery.

i don't even want to think about what i need to do to rewire the car but... /sigh

If the engine died, the alternator is gone. Better watch out, you could cause your car to catch on fire with a short.
