1997 Sunfire GT Coupe SEAT PROBLEM

Hey guys, I've got a 1997 Sunfire Coupe,

First off, I love the car, it's excellent. But recently I got some car seat covers for it, which isn't the problem.

The problem is the back seats. Most coupes I've seen have the strap to pull and fold the seats down which is what I gotta do to get the covers on.

My car doesn't have the strap. I looked online as much as I can to figure how to fold the seats down (it can fold down because there's a hole where the strap is supposed to be, just missing the strap).

A lot of places say check the trunk for a latch. I can't find what I'm supposed to be looking for. Can anyone help me out? What is another option to fold down the seats?

either there is a strap on the interior or latch in the trunk near the top of the trunk opening, do you have the owners manual?

There's a hole in the spot where the strap is supposed to sit, lol.

The strap is just missing, I don't know if it broke off or what. I'm just a new owner of the car, I bought it a month or so ago. This is the only flaw, I didn't think it'd be difficult to fix.


There can't be a latch AND a strap to open or is it always one or the other?

it's one or the other not both, try searching for a owners manual on the internet, maybe ebay,try reaching in with a plyer to see if there is some part of the release to pull on
