sounds like you're talking about the heater core or is it only when the vehicle is running, it could also maybe be condensation coming from the condenser in the dash which on some cars does run out the firewall into the engine compartment...

so wait you are trying to find where the leak is?? or?? if you are looking for the leak use warm soapy water and put it around your hose line.....where the bubbles form thats where your leak or crack is
