So i had to replace the motor in my sunfire. I basically had to build it from 2 motors. It's got the block from a 2.3L and the head from a 2.4L which the blocks from both are the same. I had to use what I had. I originally bought a 2.3L motor thinking it could work, wrong. There is no place to plug in the EGR on a 2.3L and I couldn't afford the comp and shit I would need to make it work. So I did as stated above.
Well everything was going all fine and dandy until I had an oil leak from between the valve cover and the timing chain cover, I had the gasket in stupid. Well I fixed that and made sure the gasket is right. The timing is spot on. But I had to get a different bracket for the throttle and one for the EGR cuz I lost them. Replaced both of those, and put a new Idle control valve on.

When I started it with the oil leak it ran great but it was leaking oil. When I started it after I hooked everything up again it idled at 3500. This motor was running good before I fixed the leak. How do I fix it? What are all the possibilities it could be?

And please guys only answer if your serious, just because I'm a chick it doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. I might not know the proper names but I can get it done.

I will not take it to a shop either. Just tell me how to fix it.

first, no one really cares that your a chick because we can't actually see you but you should get a manuel for your car whether its online or an actual book. you might want to adjust your idler because that should take care of it, if it doesnt then that might just be because you jerry rigged you engine. make sure you keep an eye on your engine just to make sure that things arent rubbing against each other and also that it is not leaking, other than that if it works it works and there is no reason to change any thing.
