through, heat doesnt work? I have a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire that is overheating.
Symptoms:
The coolant fan will not kick in
The coolant doesn't run through the system because hoses dont get hot
The heat in the car doesnt work

I am beginning to think its the coolant sensor, but I am not a mechanic so I do not know for sure. I thought possibly the thermistat, but the fan also doesnt kick in, and that doesnt seem to be related. Did a block test, it is NOT the headgasket, thankfully. Any thoughts from mechanics or people with similar experiences? Thanks in advance.

Looks like it could be 1. thermostat sticking in the closed position 2 water pump not up to the job any more .
