I hope some one can give me some great tips.I have a 1998 sunfire with all off a sutten will not start. It will crank stay on for 2 seconds and shut off. Will not stay running. My dash light will not come one like the check engine, parking brake, abs no dash lights. Can it be the ignition switch or the passlock sensor thx

Have you checked all fuses both in engine compartment and passenger compartment? Passlock would cause security light to come on or flash.

Yes i have checked every fused and i have switch them in diffrent spots and they are all working.I have tried a volt meter and theres power in in both the pcm and cluster fuse.

It could be the ignition switch but that is a guess.

I'd pull the cluster and check all connections/grounds.

Does the ignition switch control the dash warning lights or cluster?

Update guys my car is back up and running.I paid an electrician $160 he tore up the dash and it only had 6 volt instead of 12 volts. He traced the problem to the module. He say he reweldes a wire but i think theres one that probably was loose. So if the car does not start or no dash light check youre module wires

Curious which module and what wire he welded? I had the opposite all my dash lights would stay on when the car was running. My problem is with the pass lock system and it appears to be a big problem with these model cars. 97-2004.

If I remember correctly, the passlock for the '98 onwards is controlled by the cluster...so the module the OP referred to would be the cluster.
