1999 Grand Am perf package or not?

Needing to buy tires, How can I tell if my sons car has the Performance package ? the price difference in affordable tires is about 30 to 40 bucks a piece.

1. Look at the tire size currently on the car. GT's came with 16", SE came with 15" but 16" was optional.
2. If it's a GT there probably would be an emblem on the car.

I'm sorry the car is an SE tires on car is P225/50R16. So am i to understand if it has the performance package it would be a GT instead of SE ?

You have an SE with the optional 16" wheels and tires. The GT would be considered a performance package but since you already know the tire size there is no reason that somebody should be asking about a performance package. There are only two sizes used on the vehicle and the other one is for 15" wheels. Check out www.tirerack.com

Thank You for your help on this topic, not knowing much about Pontiacs Grand Am's I just wanted to be sure before buying tires for this car as every tire website I was on wanted to know if it had the performance package or not.
