1999 Montana CV Axle

I can't get the CV axle to release from the tranny. I've tried using a pry bar to "pop" it off and even wrapped a rope around to try to pull it off. Am I mising something?

pull harder, make sure your pulling straight out and not at an angle,try pushing in a little and the pull hard outwards.
