This just started, no other issues, no warning lights on...anyone have any ideas??

I agree with the other answers however I would go to the back of your car, take your finger and wipe one circle around the end of your tail pipe. If your finger comes out black with sooty residue, I would suggest you need a tune up in the worst way. Your engine is probably using oil faster as well so have all your filters checked. The gas smell could be the gas line filter has a pin hole in it and spraying up underneath the automobile on to the hot engine. Tune up is necessary.

Have you had any work done on it recently ? It sounds like you have a gas leak in the engine area. There are no warning lights for it just an increase in your gas bill. Pop the hood when it's cold and see if you can spot anything, gas evaporates quickly in a warm engine and it can be hard to spot a leak. Don't ignore it unless you have good insurance.

A fuel line maybe leaking on your engine, start your car - up then raise the hoodand take a good look around your engine , if it's leaking you should be able to see it while the engine is running. The gas smell is coming in through the air vents while your driving down the road, that's why you can smell it so strong.
