I just bought a 1999 pontiac sunfire automatic with a 2.2 liter befor buying it was sitting for 4 years im told by previouse owner he bought a new car and stoped using this one is why. I have already took out all the old gas and put in new gas drained and did all new fluids and put a little oil into each cylinder and let it sit over night the next day i left the spark plugs out and tryed turning the engine over it turned over very good with ease about 8 times then i sucked the oil out of the cylinders. Cleaned the spark plugs and tryed to start it . It started and died almost instantly. I tryed starting it again nothing wont turn over nothing i took the plugs out then tryed it then starting turning over very slowly untill it finnally stoped turning over alltogether. I took the starter off bench tested it and still the starter works i presumed to buy a good starter from a junk yard now it turns over but very slowly. The battery is good becouse if i take it and put it in my truck it fires right up. I need some help anyone with info would be great im out of ideas and have no idea where to go from here

what is the voltage reading on the battery? should be 12.3 or more
do you hear the fuel pump when you put the key in the run position?
can you do a fuel pressure test?

I hear all kinds of sounds when i turn the key on i cant tell if i hear a fuel pump. where would i check for that?? Also i dont have a voltmeter so i cant check the battery, but could take it to a autoparts store tomorow to get it tested .but dont see how it can start my truck but not the car.but im no expert lol

the fuel pump is usually pretty obvious if the doors are closed and you turn the key to run, a humming sound from the rear of the car.
