1999 sunfire gt, Check engine light code P0405 EGR low

This code pops up "(P0405) EGR circuit A low" and I don't have an EGR valve. Brought it to GM and they changed my computer to no avail. $100's later, no one can figure out. Anyone have this issue before?
 
which engine do you have 2.2 or 2.4?
what is the dealer doing to solve the problem after replacing the ECM?
did the dealer make an attempt to contact GM for help?
 
2.4L, Checked all the sensors they say, called me back to do further investigation, but I lost hope in them after they screwed me on a $400 bill, ECM change, and no results. No they haven't had the chance to ask GM for help. My back yard mechanics are all scratching their heads too. One said change the O2 sensor.
 
Also has a knock sensor code, I changed that for a new one and the code still pops up.

what is the second code? if there are other codes post them also. have you taken the car to autozone, which does free code checks, to see if they come up with the same codes?
 
P0325 knock sensor code is second one, I changed the knock sensor but still comes up. Tried catalytic converter cleaner "duralube" gas additive to no avail.
 
Did you trace back the wire from the knock sensor for a break in the wire?

I bought new knock sensor, had my mechanic put in. But never inspected his work. Maybe I should.

problem solved: brought to dealer, they cal flashed the right program for my 2.4L twin cam. They ran the 2.2L ecotec program when they switched out the computer.
 
wow, wish I could say that is hard to believe but some dealerships ..................

Yeah, coast mountain GM in Smithers BC. Said they put wrong VIN # down. That's why they used the wrong program. But they fixed, after a year of check engine light, for free.
 
Good to hear they made it right.
