Hi Guys,

Fairly new to Pontiacs and since I don't have that much experience, thought of asking your experts opinions.

I have the opportunity to buy a 1969 Firebird without the engine and interior very cheap and with a fair to good body.

My idea is to buy a modern donor car from where I can get the engine, transmission, maybe disc brakes and rear end. Now I was thinking that if Im going to go that way and there are plenty of possible donor cars from GM with LS engines, is there one model and year in particular that will also be a suitable interior donor car?

Has anyone in this forum performed an interior swap on 1st Gen Firebirds?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Unaware of anybody swapping a modern interior into a 1st generation other than custom shops with no limit to talent and resources like you see on TV

I have done severalteen 1st & 2nd gen Camaro swaps.
3rd gen low backs will fit and look close to stock.
Berlinettas were common with them.
I have thrown in '79 buckets in a '69 but they were high backs and it looked goofy, but they were comfortable.
Now, I have an 06 GP and the front seats might fit.... I think they would. Never measured.
As far as a complete car for a swap ......I personally, would go for a 2000-02 WS6.
Tried & true WS6 suspension, all motor & tranny components are there.
All wheel disc brakes, upgraded axle & sway bars.
But thats just me.
