I know they are a pain... I'm 98% sure this means I have to replace it but I'd like some advice or reassurance first.

Car leaks coolant. I pulled the tire and crawled under the car their is a hole in the water pump and thats where its leaking from. Does that mean its bad? What is the purpose of that hole? Bad idea to fill it with JB weld? I'm assuming yes since its a factory hole.

Any advice links to step by step instructions on pulling the water pump?

Thats called a weep hole and no I dont remember why. I's there to let you know the seal/bearing assembly is starting to go before a major failure. Recommend you signup on autozone site and look up their repair instructions, it's a big difficult job on this engine.

Yeah I just went and looked at the new waterpump at parts store and that's what they said its their for.

So from what I've gathered... I need to pull the manifold cover, the timing cover.... Then mark the timing and release the pressure on the timing chain... And also pull a motor mount?

So I'll need a new pump and a new timing cover gasket and possibly a tensioner?

I know it sucks but while you got everything apart, might as well replace the tensionner because if you're familliar with Murphy's law you'll probably find out if you put the old one back! Lol :)

On a 14 year old car if you are opening the timing cover I would replace the chain, tensioner, and any worn chain guides.
