2.4l egr to no egr motor swap

Hello to everyone im new on this forum. I was just wondering if anyone knew if you converted an egr 2.4l to a non egr if it would affect the emissions. I have heard different things from different people and I wanted to know if there was anyone that has done it. Thanks Ed

what do you specifically mean by that question, what year engines are you talking about and what year is your car?

The car that i have is a 1999. Im not sure of the year of the replacement motor because i dont have it yet. My main concern is if i convert a 2.4 with an egr to a non egr will it pass massachusetts emissions test. I know how to do everything and have all the parts because the car i have is non egr and the motor im buying has an egr.

You will prolly get a a cel for the egr not functioning, but that can be tuned out. If the motor passed in the car it was in, it should pass now. My $.02

Knock sensor

Has anybody changed out a knock sensor from 99 2.4 and put it in a 97 2.4??? Any help would great. Thanks Ed
