what type of fuse size should I use in my 1972 Pontiac lemans [glass fuse] and does a fusable link need to be running from the alternator wires

The fuse box has the amperage ratings stamped on it, so what fuse are you referring to? Sounds like you need a copy of the wiring diagram and it is in the factory Chasis Service manual. You can get copies on CD from www.amesperf.com. Usually the fusable link is in the harness going to the starter but need the wiring diagram to be sure.
