Hi guys, so this summer my 2000 Bonneville v6 3.8l started doing this thing where sometimes I would goto start my car and it would start and then die right away. It would do this once or twice and then run completely fine after that. After a couple months that issue seemed to go away on its own and now starts up perfectly fine. However, alot of the time when I goto accelerate from a parked position my car hesitates and makes a sort of lunge/clunking motion and then proceeds to accelerate normally. This typically happens if I press the throttle down too quickly and can be avoided for the most part if I slowly and smoothly press the throttle. (Car shifts fine at higher speeds aswell.)
At first I thought my transmission was starting to go on me but since ive done a bit of research im beginning to think that it could be due to a dirty/bad MAF sensor.
Any input and or places to start for diagnosing my issue would be greatly appreciated. Tomorrow morning im going to remove my MAF and check it over but in the meantime any help possible would be awesome. Thank you.
