I have 2000 pontiac bonneville SLE. I just found out today that I now only have first, second gear and reverse. Wondering how much it would cost for a rebuild? Also would I be able to drive it in second gear?? I'm from western md where most intown is 25 to 40mph. Just need some type of transportation until I can figure something out an was wondering what driving around town in second gear would do??? Thanks ahead of time for any help an tips
 
Cannt tell you the cost, depends on what needs to be done and local hourly rates. Typically it is cheaper to get a used transmission. It's not going to get better and driving around in second gear will over stress the engine.
