2000 Grand Am won't stay running

I currently own a 2000 Grand Am. If I get on the highway the car will act like it is running out of gas after about 20-30 mins of driving. If I do local driving it will run, but is unreliable. When the car does stall, it takes about 30 mins before I can restart the car. Other notables: The ECM fuze keeps blowing, also after it happened I changed the fuel filter. (It didn't help). Please Help!

If you have nothing "extra" on that fuse the ECM probably needs replaced. And that would cause the above problems. Another candidate for the free Autozone scanner. With all that going on there is probably an error code. Things like sensors tend to go in and out often instead of just die.
 
also one simple thing is to check the exhaust and make sure your getting good airflow out of the pipe. sometime the cat. get clogged and don't let the air out. Is your car temp. running hotter?

Sounds like you have a fuel pump dropping out on it. As for the ECM fuse blowing, it could be that the pump is overheating the circuit before it locks up.... in turn, blowing the fuse. Easy way to check it, it to hook up a fuel pressure gauge, and run it to the outside and tape it to the windsheild. Drive it around town until it stalls... you'll see the gauge drop if its bad, obviously..... It sounds dumb, I know, but its the only sure way to rule out the pump, I've done it several times, trying to diagnose similar problems
 
grand am trac light and exhaust

the other day i was driving and the car just started stalling stopped and checked everything all the fluids and there were fine its running terrible and the tail pipe seems to be gasping for air. i had the test done and code 304 and 440 ive changed the splugs and wires and nothing has changed someone told me the exhaust may be clogged any ideas on how to check that or unclog it is it is hope someone can help u can reach me at gsu_statesboro@yahoo.com if not here please help

well what they mean by clogged is the converter may be bad. let it cool down then get under it and smack the converter if you hear a rattle inside it then its bad and needs to be replaced..i know because i had one put on mine last yr. and it sat for like 10 months before i was able to drive it again and its bad now and in need of replacement..
