2000 Pontiac Grand Am, high mileage?

I am in need of a car. A friend of a friend has a 2000 pontiac GrandAm for sale, Decent body - no dings etc. He is asking $1,500 OBO, the only downer is there is 218k miles on it. How many more miles can I expect to get out of it? What offer would be reasonable? Thanks

depends on engine size and how well he has maintained it. could go for another 100k or blow up tomorrow. but realistically if it was well maintained porbably 50-60 more
