I'm having troubles with my blower speeds for my A/C, heating console. It didn't work on the first two speeds at first, but today the third speed went out, and I don't know if the blower motor is the problem. In order to use it I have to set it to high speed, but I'm wondering if it uses alot of power which in turn uses alot of gas. Right? Is it easy to fix?

If the motor works at all, it's not the motor. The blower speeds are controlled by a resistor set which is mounted inside the the heater duct next to the motor. It's been a while since I changed mine, but I remember you need to drop out the blower fan (behind the glove box) to get to it. Not a difficult job, except it's in a tight spot to get to.

Yeah the resistor needs replacing. I did mine a few weeks ago. Easy job, takes about half an hour. One or two of the screws are a real pita to get at as they are right up against the firewall and you`ll need arms of rubber!!

While you have the motor out, it would be good time to clean out the leaves and other crap that accumulates inside the thing. I found a dead mouse in mine!!! No wonder my car was stinking so much.
